The U-187( )/G (M55074/3) is a panel face mounted receptacle connector for use in 26-pair telephone communications. The U-187( )/G features the hermaphroditic 26-pair contact assembly, MX-3227( )/G (see below) and an environmentally resistant cast aluminum ally connector body with a protective storage cover. The typical application is as an interface connection between 26-pair telephone cables and terminal drop-line junction boxes, such as the J-1077( )/U, for connecting line telephone circuits. The U-187( )/G mates with the connector assembly U-185( )/G.
The intended use of these connectors is for military telephone communication systems using 26-pair cable, telephone WM-130( )/G.
